The College of Management of Xi'an University of Science and Technology started from the Mining Economics Teaching and Research Section established in 1962 by the former Department of Mining Engineering. On this basis, the Enterprise Management Teaching and Research Section, the Quality Management Teaching and Research Section, the Coal Industry Quality Management Research Consulting Training Center and the Mining System Engineering Research Office were successively established in the early 1980s.In 1998, the Department of Management was established together with the Department of Social Sciences and the Moral Teaching and Research Section. In 2000, a new Department of Management was established independently, and in 2002, the College of Management was established.
After 20 years of rapid development, the discipline and specialty structure of the College has become increasingly reasonable, the quality of teaching staff has been rapidly improved, and the conditions for running schools have been significantly improved.There are 7 undergraduate majors, namely, business administration, accounting, industrial engineering, information management and information system, e-commerce, engineering management and logistics management, among which e-commerce major was selected as a national first-class major, and engineering management major was accredited by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development in 2019 for engineering education certification. The College has two master's programs in first-level disciplines of management science and engineering and business administration, six master's programs in second-level disciplines of management science and engineering, enterprise management, technical economy and management, accounting, tourism management and industrial economics, and three professional master's programs in business administration (MBA), accounting (MPAcc) and engineering management (MEM). There is a doctoral program in second-level discipline of mining economy and management.The College also has Shaanxi Silk Road Quality Research Institute. The College is the third quality research institution established by universities in Shaanxi Province, as well as the key research bases of philosophy and social sciences in Shaanxi Province (universities) - Energy Economy and Management Research Center and China-Canada Intelligent Management Joint Research Center. There are also five school-level research centers, namely, the Institute of Safety Management and Risk Control, the Institute of Aging Society Development, the Western Tourism Development Research Center, the Institute of Coal Economics and Management, and the Research Center of Human Factors and Management Ergonomics.
The experimental center of the College of Management has 18 teaching and scientific research laboratories including Modern Business Center, Securities Investment Laboratory, Accounting Manual Laboratory, Engineering Management Sand Table Laboratory, BIM Laboratory, Construction Virtual Simulation Laboratory, BIM-VR Laboratory, ERP Laboratory, 3D Logistics Management Laboratory, Information System Comprehensive Laboratory, Hotel Management Laboratory, Guest Room Simulation Laboratory, VR Experience Innovation Laboratory, 3E Policy and Decision Simulation Laboratory, Corporate Financial Management and Capital Market Comprehensive Laboratory, Talent Evaluation Laboratory, Decision Simulation Laboratory, and Xi'an University of Science and Technology · JD E-commerce Research and Application Center. There is an Entrepreneurial Innovation Base for college students and a Professional Reference Room, with more than 100 sets of professional teaching and research software and nearly 400 computers, with a total asset value of about 12 million yuan and a total construction area of about 2,000 square meters.In November 2016, the College was approved by Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government as the provincial "Economic Management Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center".
The College of Management has 108 faculty members.Among them, there are 15 professors, 32 associate professors, 6 senior engineers and 50 lecturers and engineers.There are 44 people with doctoral degrees and 47 people with master's degrees.It has a team of young and middle-aged teachers with complementary knowledge structure and vigor.
In recent years, the College has undertaken more than 70 research projects at or above the provincial level and more than 200 enterprise cooperation projects, with an account amount of 26 million yuan, published more than 300 papers above the core level and published more than 40 monographs and teaching materials.More than 20 student practice bases have been established.Students participated in discipline competitions and other activities, and won more than 30 national and provincial awards every year.
