WangShuangming, male, born in May 1955, from Qishan, Shaanxi, is a master andprofessor-level senior engineer. In 1977, he graduated from Department ofGeology of Xi'an Mining Institute, majoring in Coal Geology. In 1983, heobtained the master's degree of Coal Geology & Exploration from BeijingGraduate School of Wuhan College of Geology. From 1983-1992, he worked astechnician, engineer, deputy director of Department of Geology and director ofScience and Technology Department as well as Deputy Chief Engineer forShaanxi Provincial Bureau of Coal Geology (Exploration Company). FromNovember 1992-November 1996, he worked as Chief Engineer (Deputy departmentdirector) of Department of Geology of Shaanxi Provincial Bureau of CoalGeology. From November 1996-May 2000, he was the Deputy Director and ChiefEngineer of Shaanxi Provincial Bureau of Coal Geology. From Apr.2000-Mar. 2005, he worked as Director General of Shaanxi ProvincialBureau of Coal Geology (department director). He was rated as Senior Engineerin 1992 and Professor-level Senior Engineer in 1995. From Mar. 2005-Mar.2007, he was the Director of Shaanxi Provincial Bureau of Coal Industry (Bureauof Coal Geology). From Mar. 2007-August 2010, he served as Director of ShaanxiProvincial Bureau of Coal Industry; since August 2010, he serves as partymember of Land and Resources Department of Shaanxi Province, President(department director) and Deputy Party Secretary of Shaanxi Institute ofGeological Survey. He is also the 36th and 37th director (1997-2005) ofGeological Society of China, the 4th, 5th and 6th director (1995-present) ofChina Coal Society, Vice President of Geological Society of Shaanxi Province,expert of construction panel of Shanbei Energy Chemical Industry Base, ShaanxiProvincial People's Government and Vice Chairman of Coal Geology Expert Committeeof COAL INDUSTRY COMMITTEE OF TECHNOLOGY. In 2009, he took the part-time job asa PhD Supervisor of Geological Resources and Geological Engineering, Xi’anUniversity of Science and Technology. He has successively won 3 second prizesof National Science and Technology Progress Award and 6 Provincial Science andTechnology Progress Awards. In 2005, he obtained the Li Siguang GeologicalScience Award-Field Geologist Award; in 1998, he was awarded the title ofNational Young and Middle-aged Experts with Outstanding Contributions; in 1992,he obtained the special government allowance by the State Council; in 1998, hewas elected as the top-notch talent of national coal system professionaltechnology by State Bureau of Coal Industry.

Ju Tianyi, male,Han nationality, is from Qin’an, Gansu Province. He graduated from LanzhouUniversity in December 1981 and assigned to the university as a teacher ofDepartment of Geology next year. He has been engaging in the teaching andscientific research of hydrogeology and engineering geology; in 2000, he waspromoted as professor; 1983-1984, he went to Nanjing University for furtherstudies; in 1995-1996, he studied abroad in ITC, Netherlands; he once worked asDirector of Department of Geology, Xi’an University of Science and Technology,Director of International Exchange and Cooperation, Vice-general Manager ofXi’an Xike Industry Company, Vice Chairman of Science Popularization, TourismEarth Science Specialized Committee of Geological Society of Shaanxi Province,Director of Society of Mining, Shaanxi Province, Director of Xi’an EnergyInstitute and a member of Geological Society of China, China ScientificFoundation Association. Xia Yucheng, male, born in January 1957, from Wuwei City, GansuProvince, is a professor and PhD Supervisor. In December 1981, he graduatedfrom Department of Geology of Xi'an Mining Institute, majoring in Coal Geologyand obtained the bachelor’s degree; In Jan. 1985, he graduated from Departmentof Coalfield Oil-Gas Geological Prospecting, Xi'an Mining Institute with amaster’s degree; in July 2003, he obtained the doctor’s degree of Safety Technologyand Engineering, Xi’an University of Science and Technology. He has beenengaging in the teaching and scientific research in coalfield geology, tectonicgeology, computer geology and ecological environmental protection of mine coalarea; he once was the director of Department of Geology, academic leader ofGeological Engineering Master Degree Program and he currently serves as thehead of Center for Post-doctoral Studies, Geological Resources and GeologicalEngineering. LiXiaojun, male, born in November 1971, is a professor and doctor. In 1996, hegraduated from Department of Geology of Xi'an Mining Institute, majoring inCoal Geology and graduated from Highway &Railway Engineering, Xi’anUniversity of Highway Traffic with a doctor’s degree in 1999. From 2001-2004,he was engaged in post-doctoral research in College of Civil Engineering andMaterials Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology. From2011-2012, assigned by the state, he went to study in College of Civil Engineeringand Environment, North Carolina State University as a visiting scholar. Hismain research fields in recent years are: (1) Digital modeling of loess andloess-like soil macro-scale micro space and the application in the quaternarygeology, geological disaster prevention and control and subgrade strengthening.(2) Design theory of highway subgrade and pavement coordination deformation anduniform failure mechanics mode study. (3) Ground treatment theory and processstudy based on thin film grouting technique. WangNianqin (1964- ), male, is from Mengjin County, Henan Province. He once was the researcher of Institute of GeologicalNatural Disaster Prevention and Control, Gansu Academy of Sciences. Hewas the academic leader of the first batch of Gansu Research Institute, thefirst-level talent of Gansu “555” Innovative Talents Project, member of YouthWorking Committee of Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics & Engineering,expert of committee of landslide control technology of China Science andTechnology Service Consultancy Center, China Association for Science andTechnology, expert of technical committee of geological disaster prevention andcontrol engineering, Gansu Construction Technology Experts Committee and memberof the 8th Committee of Gansu Youth Federation.
Atthe beginning of 2006, he was assigned to Xi’an University of Science andTechnology and he currently serves as professor of College of Geology andEnvironment, PhD Supervisor and academic leader of geological engineering,Xi’an University of Science and Technology. He is also the member ofenvironmental mining protection expert committee of COAL INDUSTRY COMMITTEE OFTECHNOLOGY, expert of Shaanxi Provincial Geological Disaster Emergency Panel,specially-appointed expert of Xi’an Expert Consultative Group and expert ofSudden Geological Disaster Emergency Disposal in Xi’an. Professor Wang Nianqin has been engaging in the scientificresearch and production on the rock and earth mass stability and geologicaldisaster prevention and control. His academic specialties are (side) slopestability analysis, evaluation, landslide, debris flow disaster prevention andcontrol. His research direction involves the (side) slope stability, landslide,debris flow and other geological disaster prevention and control, geologicaldisaster assessment, geotechnical engineering investigation, remote sensingtechnology, engineering supervision, integrated planning, hydraulic design,especially the extensive and deep theoretical study on the characteristics,mechanism, supervision forecasting and prevention measures of loess landslide.He has chaired and participated in more than 80 scientific research andproduction topics. In which, “Theory and Practice of Mid and Short-termforecasting of Loess Landslide”, “Study on the Geological Hazard AssessmentSystem in Rural Small Town Construction and the Ecological GeologicalEnvironment Construction” obtained the second prize of Science and TechnologyProgress Award of Shaanxi Province; “North Mountain Landslide Treatment ofTianshui Qincheng” obtained the second prize of Provincial ExcellentEngineering Design Award; “Study on the Loess Slope Deformation and Sliding”,“Handsu Landslide Hazard”, “Study on Landslide Forming Mechanism and SlidingCharacteristics during Freezing and Thawing Period” and other projects haveobtained the third prize of Science and Technology Progress Ward of ShaanxiProvince and won the department and bureau honors and rewards for severaltimes. Zhang Zhipei, male, born in Datong County, Qinghai Province inDecember 1961, is a professor and doctor of engineering. InJuly 1985, he graduated from Department of Coal Geology and Exploration, ChinaUniversity of Mining and Technology with a master’s degree. In July 2009, hegraduated from Department of Safety Engineering and Technology, Xi’anUniversity of Science and Technology with a doctor’s degree. Since July 1985,he has been engaging in the teaching and scientific research in the College ofGeology and Environment, Xi’an University of Science and Technology. His mainresearch fields are geological hazard and engineering geological hazardevaluation and treatment; slope reinforcement and ground treatment method;exploration, design and treatment of mined-out areas and the production andscientific research on numerical simulation analysis. He mainly teachesfour courses for undergraduates and postgraduates and doctoral students. His main research direction includes groundwater management andprotection, percolation theory and numerical simulation, restoration andtreatment of water and soil pollution. Since 2005,he has been engaging in teaching and scientific research in College of Geologyand Environemnt, Xi’an University of Science and Technology and he currentlyserves as deputy dean and associate professor. Hecurrently serves as deputy chief engineer of Xi’an Research Institute, ChinaCoal Technology Engineering Group, director of geophysical explorationtechnique and equipment research center; he is also the academic leader ofGeodetection and Information Technology, Xi’an University of Science andTechnology, master’s supervisor, “555” talent of Shaanxi Province, top talentof key fields in Shaanxi Province in 2013, academic leader of the first batchscientific innovation team of Shaanxi Province, top-notch talent in coalsystem; he is also the member of Shaanxi Society of Geophysics, member ofMining Geology Specialized Committee of China Coal Society and member of MineGeophysics Specialized Committee; expert of NSFC program, post-doctor fundprogram, Chinese and English core periodicals and Excellent DoctoralDissertation of Ministry of Education; he once won Sun Yueqi Excellent YoungScientist Award in 1999, Silver Hammer Award of Young Geologists of GeologicalSociety of China in 2005 and “Advanced Worker” of Shaanxi Province in 2012.

ChenLianwu, male, born in Liquan County, Shaanxi Province in July 1960, is aprofessor and a master of engineering. In July 1982, he graduated fromDepartment of Coal Prospecting and Exploration, Xi’an University of Science andTechnology (former Xi’an Mining Institute) with a bachelor’s degree. Aftergraduation, he was elected as a teacher there. In 1997, he obtained a master’sdegree in Mining Engineering from Liaoning Technical University; in November1998, he obtained the technical title of associate professor and professor inDecember 2004. He has been engaging in the teaching and scientific research ofmineral resource exploration and evaluation, computer geological applicationand geological disaster prevention and control and he is the director ofDepartment of Resource Exploration Engineering. His main research direction is:“Computer geological application”, “Coal geology and mining geology”, “Minegeological environment evaluation and treatment technology”. He mainly teaches4 courses for undergraduates and 2 for postgraduates and doctoral students. From June 2008-May 2018, he worked asdeputy dean of College of Geology and Environment, Xi’an University of Scienceand Technology, deputy director of Editorial Review Board of textbooks ingeology, China Coal Education Association, member of Mining Geology SpecializedCommittee, China Coal Society, member of Coal Geology Specialized Committee,Shaanxi Coal Society. His main research direction is coal geology,environmental geology, mathematical geology and computer application. In July 1991, hegraduated from Department of Geology and Exploration, China Coal ResearchInstitute with a master’s degree in engineering. From August 1983 to April2003, he worked on the scientific research in China Coal Research Institute,Xi’an Branch; from 1996-2003, he worked as deputy director of Institute ofDrilling and the researcher since Oct. 2000. Since 2003, he has been engaged inthe teaching and scientific research of College of Geology and Environment,Xi’an University of Science and Technology as deputy dean and professor. Liu Zhuannian, male, from Fuping, Shaanxi, is a post (doctor),professor (an exception) and PhD Supervisor. He graduated from Department of Environmental Engineering,Nanjing University of Science and Technology with a bachelor’s degree andgraduated from Department of Environmental Engineering, Xi’an University ofArchitecture and Technology with a doctor’s degree. He then obtained thepost-doctoral degree of postdoctoral research station of Materials Science andEngineering, Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology. Hewent to Northern Arizona University as a visiting scholar from July-Dec. 2014.He is the deputy director of Editorial Review Board of the EnvironmentDiscipline of “13th five-year” plan by colleges and universities (Mining),convener of first-level discipline master degree, Environmental Science andEngineering, Xi’an University of Science and Technology and leader ofsecond-level discipline master degree of Environmental Engineering. He is also the director of Shaanxi Association ofIntegrated Utilization of Resources and director and specially-appointed expertof Xi’an Association of Energy Saving.
He has chaired and accomplished more than 20 longitudinal andtransverse projects such as NSFC general programs, Shaanxi Industrial Scienceand Technology Tackling Project, China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, Xi’anIndustrial Science and Technology Tackling Project and Industrializationprojects of Education Department. He has published more than 60 papers inJournal of Environmental engineering and other periodicals and more than 20have been included by SCI and EI. In 2015, he won the award of highly citedpapers by Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of Chin and Journal ofChemical Industry and Engineering. He has published 4 monographs and textbooksand authorized 12 national patents for invention. He has won respectively 1second prize of Science and Technology Award of CHINA ASSOCIATION OF CIRCULARECONOMY and third prize of Xi’an Science and Technology Progress Award.

HouChentao, female, born in Dingzhou City, Hebei Province in January 1975, is anassociate professor and doctor of engineering. In July 1996, she graduated fromEnvironmental Engineering of College of Municipal and Environment, Xi’anUniversity of Architecture and Technology with a bachelor’s degree inengineering. In July 1999, she obtained the master’s degree from the samespecialty, same university. From September 2003 to July 2008, she majored inEnvironmental Engineering of College of Municipal and Environment, Xi’anUniversity of Architecture and Technology and obtained the doctor’s degree.Since July 1999, she has been engaging in the teaching and scientific researchin College of Geology and Environment, Xi’an University of Science and Technology.From 2008 to 2011, she worked as deputy director and associate professor ofDepartment of Environmental Science and Engineering and serves as director andassociate professor since May 2014. Since May 2018, she works as deputy dean ofCollege of Geology and Environment. Her main research direction is“Environment-friendly materials technique”, “Gaseous pollutant treatmenttechnology”, “Mine environmental treatment technique”. He mainly teaches fourcourses for undergraduates and postgraduates and doctoral students. She has won1 Shaanxi Education Department Fund project and participated in 6 provincialfund projects and obtained 6 national patents. She has publicly published morethan 30 papers, co-edited 3 monographs and 2 “12th five-year-plan” textbooks.

ZhaoXiaoguang, born in 1965, from Xi’an, Shaanxi, is a professor and PhDSupervisor; he currently serves as academic leader of “Mine environmentalengineering” doctor station discipline, visiting fellow of key laboratory ofChinese Academy of Sciences, review expert of National Technological InnovationFoundation Projects for small and medium enterprises, technical expert ofShaanxi Program of Water and Soil Conservation and review expert ofEnvironmental Impact Assessment in Shaanxi Province. Hismain research fields are: water and soil environment process, mineenvironmental protection and ecological recovery. He has set up“Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development”, “Surface Source Controlof Water Pollution”, Environmental Ecology”, “Mine Environmentology”, “NewProgress of Environmentology”, “Land Rehabilitation and Ecological Rebuilding” andother 10 courses for undergraduates and postgraduates and doctoral students,which have been well received by the teachers and students. He also has beenrated as Famous Teacher of the university.

ZhangLei, female, is a doctor and associate professor. From September 1999 to July2003, she studied in China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing),majoring in Chemical Engineering and Technology and obtained the bachelor’sdegree; from September 2004 to July 2009, she studied in China University ofMining and Technology (Beijing) as a MD-PhD, majoring in EnvironmentalEngineering and obtained the doctor’s degree in engineering. She is mainlyengaged in the study of clean coal technology, FGDD catalyst and mine solid waste.She has chaired the subtopic of Shaanxi Overall Science and TechnologyInnovation Project, Shaanxi Natural Science Foundation Project, ShaanxiEducation Department Foundation and participated in several NSFC programs; shehas published more than 30 papers in domestic and foreign periodicals and 6have been included by SCI and 10 by EI; she has published 1 monograph andedited and co-edited many textbooks. She has won 4 patents for utility models.

TianHua, female, born in Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province, is an associate professorand doctor of engineering. In July 1996, he graduated from NorthwestArchitectural Engineering Institute (Chang’an University), majoring in WaterSupply and Sewage Engineering and obtained the bachelor’s degree inengineering. In 2003, she graduated from Chang’an University, majoring inHydrology and Water Resources and obtained the master’s degree in engineering.In June 2011, she graduated from Xi’an University of Science and Technology, majoringin Geological Engineering and obtained the doctor’s degree in engineering.Since 2003, she has been engaging in the teaching and scientific research inCollege of Geology and Environment, Xi’an University of Science and Technology.Her main research direction is “Groundwater Cycle evolution”, “Migration andTransformation of Pollutant in Water and Soil”. She has taken charge of naturalscience foundation and other projects and she mainly teaches 3 courses forundergraduates. She has published more than 20 academic papers and co-edited 2monographs.

WangZhyeng, female, born in 1965, is an associate professor. She graduated fromBeijing University of Iron and Steel Technology (It is now Beijing Universityof Science and Technology) and obtained the bachelor degree of science. From1985 to 1987, she worked in Xi 'an Institute of Metallurgy and Architecture (Itis now Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology) as a teacher. From 1987to 1990, she studied in Xi 'an Institute of Metallurgy and Architecture for themaster degree and obtained the master’s degree in Environmental Engineering.The same year, she worked in China Coal Xi’an Design Engineering Co., Ltd. toengage in the study and design of environmental impact assessment evaluationand environmental monitoring. In 1993, she was promoted as engineer and thensenior engineer in 1996. In 2002, she was transferred to College of Geology andEnvironment, Xi’an University of Science and Technology as a teacher. Atpresent, she is mainly engaged in the teaching and scientific research ofenvironmental evaluation and water treatment. She has given lectures like“Environmental Impact Assessment”, “Environment Management and Planning”,“Environmental Hydrochemistry”, “Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment”,“Environmental Biochemistry”, “Measuring and Testing Technique” forundergraduates and postgraduates and instructed 18 postgraduate students; shehas participated or chaired several provincial projects, published more than 20papers in the core and above periodicals and write three monographs andtextbooks.

ChengAihua, born in 1977, from Changji, Xinjiang, is an associate professor. In2001, she graduated from Lanzhou Railway College (It is now Lanzhou JiaotongUniversity) and obtained the master’s degree in Environmental Engineering. In2007, she graduated from Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology andobtained the doctor’s degree in Environmental Engineering and her researchdirection was water treatment technology. In July 2001, she was promoted aslecturer and associate professor in Oct. 2007. During 2010-2011, she went toGifu University for study as a visiting scholar. Now she serves as teacher inEnvironmental Engineering, College of Geology and Environment, Xi’an Universityof Science and Technology. She has taught “Environmental EngineeringMicrobiology”, “Water Pollution Control Engineering”, “Environmental Ecology”,“Noise Pollution Control Engineering” for undergraduates. She is mainly engagedin the teaching and scientific research of environmental engineeringmicrobiology and water treatment. She has participated in or chairedprojects preferred and subsidized by Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation,National Natural Foundation, Shaanxi Natural Science Foundation and severalprojects. She has published more than 30 papers and written 3 monographs andtextbooks.

DangXiaohu, male, born in December 1968, is a professor and doctor. In July1991, he graduated from former Northwest Forestry College with a bachelor’sdegree. From July 1991 to August 2004, she worked in Longde Water ConservancyBureau, Ningxia Province. From September 2001 to August 2004, he studied inNorthwest Agriculture & Forestry University and obtained the master’sdegree of agronomy. From September 2004 to June 2007, he studied in ResearchCenter of Water and Soil Conservation and Ecological Environment, ChineseAcademy of Sciences and obtained the doctor’s degree in sciences. Since July2007, he has been engaging in the teaching and scientific research of Collegeof Geology and Environment, Xi’an University of Science and Technology. Hismain research fields are: Water and soil conservation and ecological economy,man-earth relationship, land ecological engineering, etc. He is now in chargeof 1 NSFC general program, 1 Shaanxi Industrial Science and Technology TacklingProject and 1 key fund topic of State Key Laboratory, Loess Plateau soilerosion and dry farming; he is participating in 1 “11th five-year” science andtechnology supporting program and 1 strategic leading science and technologyprogram by Chinese Academy of Sciences” and other projects. He has publishedmore than 20 academic papers and 3 have been included by SCI, 2 by EI; he haspublished 1 monograph and co-edit 1 English monograph.

JiaRuiyu, female, born in Hancheng City, Shaanxi Province in November 1963, is aprofessor and master’s supervisor. She graduated from Department of WaterConservancy, Northwest Agricultural University (Northwest Agriculture&Forestry University), majoring in Water Conservancy and Irrigation), andobtained the bachelor’s degree. After graduation, she has been engaging inteaching and scientific research. Since 2003, she has been working on teachingand scientific research in Department of Environmental Engineering, College ofGeology and Environment, Xi’an University of Science and Technology. Her mainresearch direction is “Water and soil and ecological environment field”. Shemainly teaches 10 courses for undergraduates and 3 courses for postgraduatesand doctoral students. She has chaired and participated in more than 10provincial scientific research projects and obtained more than 10 nationalpatents. She has published more than 30 papers and co-edited 3 textbooks.
