Professor Chang Xintan
Chang Xintan: Male, born in 1946, professor, PhD Supervisor. From Xiangyin, Hunan. One of the experts with outstanding contributions to Shaanxi and China. He has been engaged in ventilation and safety technology work in the coal mine site for 12 years. He studied in the United States for 8 years in the 1980s. He received a master's degree in mining from the Michigan University of Technology in 1983 and a doctor's degree in engineering mechanics in 1988. While he was studying in the United States, his main research direction was based on the mine fire ventilation simulation calculation. In 1982, as one of the main undertakers of the project, he participated in the research on “Dynamic Simulation of Mine Fire Ventilation” by the United States Bureau of Mines. In 1987, based on the research above, a software system was completed, named MFIRE, so as to achieve the dynamic prediction of ventilation parameters in any complex ventilation network under mine fire conditions. The software system developed by him after returning to China has more complete functions, which makes the complicated fire control calculation possible, so that the technical level of the software system has entered the international advanced ranks. In recent years, he has led the research group members to complete the research projects one after another, e.g. “Research on Mine Disaster Relief Software System”, “Research on Computer Disaster Relief System for Mine Ventilation Safety”, etc. And such systems have been identified as having reached the “international advanced level”. The completed key project by the Ministry of Public Security - “Study on the Law of Smoke Flow in Underground Civil Building Fires”, has not only filled the domestic gap, but also has won the first prize for scientific and technological progress of the Ministry of Public Security and the third prize for national scientific and technological progress. He has not only presided over and completed a number of major scientific research projects, won one National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology as well as five Provincial and Ministerial Prize for Progress in Science and Technology, published 3 monographs and textbooks, and published more than 20 papers in important academic journals at home and abroad, but also has undertaken the 12 research projects, e.g. Project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National High-tech Industry Demonstration Project, Project supported by the Natural Science Foundation of Shaanxi, Key Project in Shaanxi, etc.
