On the afternoon of September 21st, Su Pingli, deputy director of the United Front Work Department of Lintong District Party Committee, and Xu Xiping, full-time member of the Social Affairs Committee of Lintong District Political Consultative Conference, led a six-member working group composed of Zhigong Party and the overseas Chinese federations to visit the university. It was a CPPCC Member Day with theme of Greeting the 20th National Congress, CPPCC Members in Action. A conversation around the multi-party cooperation and political consultation system under the leadership of the Communist Party of China was held. Fan Jianwu, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of our university, heads of the United Front Work Department and Xi'an University of Science and Technology Branch of Zhigong Party, members of the CPPCC of our university and members of the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese attended the conversation. The conversation was presided over by the head of the United Front Work Department.
During the conversation, Fan Jianwu welcomed the Lintong District Political Consultative Conference for the CPPCC Member Day in the university, and briefly introduced the overall situation of the university and the united front work. Fan Jianwu expressed the hope that it is a great opportunity to further promote the linkage of the two parties, and strengthen cooperation and exchanges, especially on the aspect that public figures outside the Party help local economic and social development and promote the common development of the united front work both inside and outside the university.
In his speech, Su Pingli introduced the situation of Lintong District and the basic situation of the united front in Lintong District, and hoped to further deepen the exchanges and cooperation between Xi'an University of Science and Technology and Lintong District in the field of united front. It shall give full play to the advantages of the united front resources in the university, actively carry out investigation and research around the situation and social conditions in Lintong District, and support the development of Lintong's tourism industry and rural revitalization.
Later, the people attended watched the film Questions and Answer Around the 20th National Congress-Why Democratic Parties are Close Friends of the Communist Party. After the film, they discussed the topics, such as how the CPPCC members performing their duties, how public figures outside the Party make suggestions, and university-local cooperation.
Before the discussion, they also visited the History Museum of Xi'an University of Science and Technology and the Geological Museum.
