On the afternoon of October 28th, under the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, sponsored by the School Planning, Construction and Development Center of the Ministry of Education, and undertaken by Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government and Xi'an Jiaotong University, the 2021 Silk Road International-Industry-University-Research Institution Cooperation Conference themed "Innovative cooperation to seek development" was opened in Xi'an. XUST's vice President Deng Jun participated in the unveiling ceremony of cooperation platforms such as "XUST- International Cooperation Research Base of Barapukuria Coal Mine in Bangladesh".
The opening ceremony was held through a combination of online and offline. Venues were set up in the Ministry of Education, and provinces and autonomous regions including Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, Xinjiang, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. Overseas guests and relevant units attend the conference online and offline. Vice Minister of Education Tian Xuejun and vice Governor of Shaanxi Provincial People's Government Fang Guanghua delivered speeches respectively. Secretary of Shaanxi Provincial Education Work Committee Wang Jianli, deputy director of the Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government Liu Baoping, deputy secretary-general of Shaanxi Provincial Government Zhang Junlin, and vice XUST President Deng Jun participated in the unveiling ceremonies of 10 cooperation platforms, including "XUST-International Cooperation Research Base of Barapukuria Coal Mine in Bangladesh". Jointly established by XUST and Xuzhou Coal Mining Group Co., Ltd., the research base is hoped to further strengthen and deepen the scientific research cooperation between China and Bangladesh by promoting the international scientific research cooperation and joint training of talents in Silk Road countries, thus making our contributions to a high-quality development of the economic and cultural construction among countries along "The Belt and Road" Initiative.
On the morning of the October 29th, Chinese-foreign cooperative instructors and jointly-trained graduate students in our school participated in the sub-forum in the field of energy and chemical industry sponsored by Xi'an Jiaotong University online. Chinese and foreign experts, scholars and enterprise representatives exchanged their views on tackling of core technologies, efficiency improvement of scientific and technological transformation and application, and international scientific and technological talents training. Xiong Shanxin, professor of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in XUST won the first prize of "Achievements of China-foreign Cooperation in International Industry, Education and Research" for his achievements in the research field of photoelectric functional materials and devices and international talents joint training .
The "Silk Road International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application" has brought new opportunities for foreign exchanges and opening up in the field of education in Northwest China. Chinese and foreign experts and scholars are working together to promote the coordinated development of international industry-university-research and solve innovation problems, which will make greater contributions to building of a community with shared future for mankind.
