On the evening of May 13, Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters) released ESI statistics from January 1, 2011 to February 28, 2021. In the ESI ranking of universities, Xi'an University of Science and Technology (XUST) has improved its global ranking by 288 places, and the engineering discipline ranks 157th in China, with its global ranking increased by 119 places. The significant improvement of the engineering ranking is an important embodiment of the achievements of the discipline connotation construction of our university.
In recent years, aiming at the goal of "Double First Class University Plan" construction, the university have attached great importance to basic scientific research, took advantage of the discipline as the guidance, adhered to the "12345" discipline development goal, strengthened policy guidance, encouraged high-level academic output, strived to enhance the university's core competitiveness and international influence, and effectively pushed the safety science and engineering discipline into the world-class discipline construction. This will lay a solid foundation for the new journey of building a world-class university in energy and security.
