"I volunteer to be a glorious volunteer for the 14th National Games. Adhering to the Xi'an University of Science and Technology's spirit of "Motivated and Self-driven" and the purpose of voluntary service, practicing the concept of voluntary service, observing discipline, obeying command, keeping in mind responsibility and serving enthusiastically, I can do my best to win glory for Shaanxi and bring credit to the 14th National Games, and make volunteers' smiles become the best name card for Shaanxi." On March 24, 188 XUST volunteers of the 14th National Games solemnly swore in Mingde Square, Lishan Campus, Lintong District.
In order to further improve the volunteer service of the 14th National Games, the 11th National Paralympic Games and the 8th Special Olympics, recently, the university has carried out the training of volunteers for the 14th National Games. This training started with how to organize and manage voluntary service, and we specially invited professionals such as the head of General Medical Department of Xi'an Central Hospital, etiquette major teachers of Huaxia Shengde Lishang Academy, firefighters of Fire Rescue Brigade of Lintong District, Xi'an, etc. to give volunteers special training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, volunteer etiquette and fire safety, striving to build a volunteer service team with excellent comprehensive quality and high service level. Relevant responsible personnel of the Youth League Committee, the backbone of the volunteer management team of the 14th National Games of our university, and 188 volunteers of the 14th National Games participated in this training.
During the training process, the lecturers combined their rich practical experience with humorous language to guide the volunteers. Participants listened carefully, remembered with concentrated attention and actively interacted with each other. In the actual operation, the volunteers strictly followed the teacher's requirements and standardized operation. During the fire safety training, the lecturer constructed a number of unexpected situations that may occur at the competition site, and personally demonstrated the methods to deal with various emergencies.
Through three special trainings, volunteers have expressed that they have a deeper understanding of the volunteer service of the 14th National Games and the Paralympic Games, and will keep the training content in mind and apply it in practice, and welcome guests and friends from all walks of life with full enthusiasm and thoughtful service.
The 14th National Games, the 11th Paralympic Games and the 8th Special Olympics will be held in Shaanxi Province in September this year, which is the largest comprehensive sports meeting with the highest level in China. As one of the volunteer recruitment universities authorized by the Organizing Committee, our university officially started the recruitment of volunteers for the Games in October last year. The Youth League Committee gave full play to its organizational advantages, actively mobilized and organized young students to support, participate in and help the National Games, and successfully completed the written test, interview and selection of volunteers for the 14th National Games. All will contribute to the National Games, participate in voluntary service, and harvest a beautiful youth. According to the announcement and requirements of the Organizing Committee, the Youth League Committee will continue to carry out relevant training and assessment to ensure that volunteers of the 14th National Games complete the volunteer service of the 14th National Games, the 11th Paralympic Games and the 8th Special Olympics with high sense of responsibility and relentless enthusiasm, fully displaying the beauty in youth of Xi'an University of Science and Technology.
