As spring comes to life, swallow chicks are returning.On April 28, the first batch of 70 students of our university started returning to campus.In response, the school has taken strict measures to ensure that students return to school in an orderly manner. For example, the school has set up the pick-up station, provided post-arrival test, strict accommodation management, information tracking, etc. The school is doing its utmost to ensure that all work is carried out as planed, providing the most comprehensive, thorough and rigorous prevention and control measures. At the pick-up station, under the guidance of the staff, the students completed the information collection and recording, and boarded the bus after being tested, making students feel safe, being cared and valued once they arrived in Xi'an. In campus, the disinfection equipment, isolation strips, testing instruments and disposal sites were deployed in place, where the staff followed through strict preventive measures.The school leaders led teams to various sites for inspection and provided guidance at sites to guarantee that all students returned to school safely.The first batch of students who returned to school safely under the considerate arrangement of the school now have their living and learning conditions fully guaranteed.This has provided valuable experience for school's future work.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic, the school has quickly set up a leading group for the prevention and control of the epidemic, uniformly deployed the epidemic prevention and control work, and promoted other daily work in an orderly manner, minimizing the adverse effects of the epidemic on the study, work and life of teachers and students as well as the development of the school.Under the strong leadership of the party committee of the school and the leading group for epidemic prevention and control, all teachers and students have actively participated in the frontline of epidemic prevention and control, teaching and scientific research, greatly contributing to the safe, harmonious and stable growth of the school. After returning to work ahead of students, the school staff stayed committed to their posts, took scientific measures for epidemic prevention and control, actively worked out plans and made preparations for the school resumption, striving to win "double victories" for the school. In late April, according to the notice of the resumption of Shaanxi colleges and universities in spring semester of 2020, Xi'an University of Science and Technology has drawn up a detailed plan for the class resumption. With the goal of "controlling the source of infection, cutting off the transmission route and ensuring the safety of teachers and students", the school has arranged students to return to school in stages and batches, with different measures according to different areas, grade and class. In addition, the school kept informed of teachers and students, and made every effort to prevent and control the epidemic as students started returning to school.
As the saying goes, "Make deliberate plans for a rainy day".Prior to students' return, the school worked to enhance the ability of teachers and students to better respond to the infectious diseases emergencies through "online + offline" training, and invited experts from Shaanxi CDC to give lectures on COVID-19 prevention and control, and personal protection for all teachers and students on many occasions, keeping everyone informed of effective prevention and control measures.More than 26,000 school teachers and students all over the world watched the training, which provided better understanding of COVID-19 related systems, prevention and control measures, and transmission routes. In addition, the training also informed students of matters needing attention in study and life before returning to school, on the way back to school and during their stay at school. Moreover, the procedures for handling special emergencies were also provided, helping improve self-protection ability, and creating a safe environment for all teachers and students to return to school. To ensure the safe, smooth and orderly return to school in the spring semester of 2020, the school carried out a number of emergency drills of epidemic prevention and control in classrooms, laboratories, canteens, dormitories and other key places two weeks in advance. These drills enabled the school to verify the scientificity and operability of the epidemic prevention and control emergency response plan, keep improving the work flow, standards and requirements, enhance the leadership, rapid response ability, emergency response ability and teamwork, creating an impenetrable defense against the virus for all teachers and students.Whether students can settle down to study after returning to school is the litmus test to see whether all the teachers and students have passed this test.Therefore, the school not only worked on "safe school re-entry", but also endeavored to ensure that students can "settle down to study".
