On October 16, the signing ceremony for the joint construction of Xi'an University of Science and Technology was held at Lishan Campus, Lintong Campus of Xi'an University of Science and Technology. Xu Erfeng, member of the party group of the Ministry of Emergency Management and director of the Political Department, and Fang Guanghua, vice governor of Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, signed the agreement on the joint construction of Xi'an University of Science and Technology and delivered a speech on behalf of the two sides.
According to the agreement, the Ministry of Emergency Management, together with the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, will support Xi'an University of Science and Technology to strengthen its disciplinary advantages, build the College of Emergency Management (Xi'an), strengthen the training of emergency management personnel, enhance its scientific and technological innovation capacity, and give full play to its role as a think tank and improve the strength and level of running a school in an all-round way. With theses measures, both sides aim to build the Xi'an University of Science and Technology into a characteristic base for personnel training and a scientific and technological innovation base in the field of emergency management.In strengthening the advantages of discipline characteristics, they encourage to include the school safety science and engineering and other disciplines into the ranks of national first-class discipline construction.In strengthening the training of emergency management personnel, the Ministry of Emergency Management will cooperate with affiliated China Fire and Rescue Institute, North China Institute of Science and Technology and Institute of Disaster Prevention, Xi'an University of Science and Technology to jointly train first-class emergency management personnel; Shaanxi Provincial People's Government encourages the inclusion of some majors of the university in the "Double First Class University Plan" to improve the quality of emergency management personnel training.In addition, the two sides will support the university in building national scientific research platforms and key laboratories, carrying out in-depth theoretical research on emergency management, tackling key scientific and technological problems, and transforming achievements.In terms of giving full play to the role as a think tank, they will support the university to cooperate with relevant departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Emergency Management and local emergency management department and to provide services and intelligent assistance. The two sides will also give support to Xi'an University of Science and Technology in the areas of serving two temporary positions, building teaching staff, and improving school-running conditions, so as to further promote the development of Xi'an University of Science and Technology towards characteristic, substance, and high-quality development.
At the signing ceremony, Xi'an University of Science and Technology also signed the strategic cooperation agreement with China Fire and Rescue Institute, North China Institute of Science and Technology, Institute of Disaster Prevention, and the Ministry of Emergency Management of Shaanxi Province.
