On July 1, Xi'an University of Science and Technology held the Ceremony of Commemorating the 98th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China and Awarding Outstanding Units and Individuals At this ceremony, we reviewed the history and glorious development course of the Party, summed up our university's Party building work in recent years. By rewarding the outstanding units and individuals, we encouraged and inspired Party members and cadres to further liberate minds, keep pace with the times, stand together and work hard, and then to make new contributions to the construction of the first-class and distinctive high-level teaching and research university in China.
Zhou Xiaode, Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, Jiang Lin, the President, Wang Douhu, former Party Secretary , Zhao Wenjie, former Dean, Li Ming, Fan Jianwu, Hu Wei, Deputy Secretaries of the Party Committee of the university, Wang Huiqiang, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, Zhang Weihu, Li Shugang, Wang Guirong, Chen Chunlin, Deputy Presidents, and Huang Yingwei, Chief Accountant of the university, as well as members of the university's Discipline Inspection Commission, Principals for party and government affairs of all units and departments, NPC representatives and CPPCC members at or above the municipal level, leaders of democratic parties, representatives of outstanding units and individuals, retired party members, and teachers and students nearly 600 people attended the ceremony.
At the meeting, Li Ming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, read out the Decision on Rewarding the Outstanding Primary Party organizations, Communist Party Members, Party Affairs Workers, Units of Building Fine Party Culture and A Corruption-Free Party, Diligent and Clean Individuals in 2017-2019, Hu Wei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, announced the Notice on Rewarding Excellent Organizations and Learning Models for Promoting the Use of the Learning Platform of "Learning Powerful Country, and then rewarded these outstanding and excellent units and individuals. Du Yong, representative of the outstanding primary party organizations, Secretary of the Party Committee of Safety School, Zhao Xueping, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Earth and Environment, and Shi Yufang, representative of the outstanding Communist Party members and Vice President of the School of Management, delivered speeches respectively.
Zhou Xiaode, Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, on behalf of the Party Committee of the university, congratulated the outstanding units and individuals who were rewarded. He pointed out: Adhering to the guidance of Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, the Party committee of the university gives full play to the important role of directing, managing the overall situation, making decisions, and ensuring implementation, and grasps and strengthens party building with systematic thinking. Through setting the direction and strategy with firm determination, strengthening the distinctive discipline and promoting development by hard working, benefiting people's livelihood and making up weak points with great concentration, remarkable achievements have been made in party building and other undertakings in the school.
In order to further strengthen and improve the Party's construction and promote the reform and development of the university, he stressed that we should remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission of running a university firmly in mind, should regard the training of socialist builders and successors as the fundamental task, treat education of talents for the Party and the country as the original aspiration and mission; should govern the Party in an all-round and strict way, ensure the correct direction of running a university, master the leading power of ideological and political work in schools and universities, and ensure that schools and universities will always be a strong supporter for training builders and successors of the socialist cause; should pursue and surpass, and be committed to build a first-class university; adhering to the principle of "focusing on party building around the central task and doing a good job of party building to promote development", we should organically integrate the main work of party building with teaching and scientific research, rally the wisdom and strength of party members, teachers and students to "make contributions to daily works, and promote development in full swing", turn the leadership and organizational power of the party organization into a powerful driving force to promote the major tasks, and realize the promotion and improvement of both party building and major tasks.
Zhou Xiaode asked the Party organizations, party members and cadres at all levels of the university to focus on the educational goal of the theme of "remaining true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind", concentrate on reform and innovation, overcome difficulties, and forge ahead, always take the lead in the development of university undertakings, give full play to the leading role, and jointly write a new chapter in the reform and development of university education.
When presiding over the meeting, president Jiang Lin called on all party organizations at all levels and party members to conscientiously study and comprehend the spirit delivered at this ceremony, and then practice the spirits in thinking, acting and completing requirements of university's development, give full play to the role of primary party organizations as a fighting fortress and the exemplary vanguard of party members, and provide a strong guarantee for the development of university's undertakings by promoting the scientific level of party building in an all-round way with the spirit of reform and innovation. Jiang Lin pointed out that we should learn from the advanced models, practice the advanced qualities of Communists in promoting the development of university; should study with an open mind, work hard and be positive; combining with the theme education of "remaining true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind", we should guide our actions and push our works with Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, thus to create new achievements and make new contributions in serving the teachers and students and promoting the development of the university; should live up our responsibilities and ensure the smooth development of all current tasks according to the "three-step" development strategy and 12345 discipline development thought of the university; through summing up experiences and finding out the weak points, we should do well in all current tasks in a down-to earth manner and fully complete the intended objectives, making new and greater contributions to the construction of a first-class and distinctive high-level teaching and research university in China, and commemorating the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China with outstanding achievements.
