On the morning of June 27, the Graduation Ceremony and Degree Awarding Ceremony for the 2019 Undergraduate of Xi'an University of Science and Technology was held in Gymnasium of Lishan School Yard, Lintong Campus. Zhou Xiaode, Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, and Jiang Lin, President of the university, respectively issued graduation certificates and degree certificates to the representatives of graduates who have been granted graduation and conferred degrees of different majors, and moved their tassels on graduation caps. Li Ming, Fan Jianwu and Hu Wei, Deputy Secretaries of the Party Committee of the university, Wang Huiqiang, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, Zhang Weihu, Wang Guirong, Lai Xingping, and Chen Chunlin, Deputy Presidents, and Huang Yingwei, Chief Accountant, attended the ceremony. Fan Jianwu presided over the graduation ceremony. In addition, members of the University Degree Committee, principals for party and administration works of all units and departments, responsible persons for student affairs of all schools, representatives of teachers, counselors for graduates, representatives of parents, and representatives of 2019 graduates nearly 3,000 people attended the ceremony.
The ceremony kicked off with the grand national anthem. Li Ming read out the Notice on Commending Excellent Graduates of 2019 and the Notice on Rewarding Graduates of 2019 to Work in Xinjiang and Tibet. Wang Guirong declared the Decision on Approving Graduation and Awarding Bachelor's Degree to Undergraduates of 2019, Chen Chunlin announced the Notice on Appointment of Chen Xiangdong and Another 89 Students of 2019 as Alumni Liaisons. The leaders at the ceremony wore red flowers for the honored representatives of graduates to work in Xinjiang and Tibet, and presented honorary certificates and employment letters to the representatives of outstanding graduates and alumni liaisons. Ma Li, a teacher's representative, Chen Peng, a graduate's representative, and Yang Jiannan, a student's representative, gave speeches respectively.
Jiang Lin, on behalf of the university, expressed warm congratulations and best wishes to all the 2019 graduates who have successfully completed their studies and are about to embark on a new journey. Jiang said, we have saw our students' fighting spirit in hard-work and practice, and ambition of "Creating a thriving China with our days of youth ". What's more, we are deeply moved by their contributions to the university's development from generation to generation, their courage to stand together regardless of situation, as well as their acceptance and understanding to our university.
Jiang hoped that all the graduates should assume the responsibilities entrusted by the time and bring up the patriotism and love to family, and then turn the sincere feeling into the ambition of serving the country and making the country stronger; should integrate personal pursuit into the needs of the country and the well being of the people, and let your youth shine more brightly in the vast world of reform and opening up in the new era; should seek truth and be practical, constantly improve moral character, protect the pure heart well, actively practice the socialist core values, and insist on telling the truth, seeking truth and being a real person; should do every little thing well, and eventually lead a life with higher latitude and level, as well as nobler aspirations by hard working and outstanding achievements; should maintain positive attitude and innovative spirit to become qualified in daily works and be capable of solving the problems of the industry. I hope that all graduates should maintain the enthusiasm to knowledge and develop a manner of life long learning, pursuit truth and challenge difficulties in the course of life and insist on self-dependent innovation during scaling new heights. Being determined, working hard and sparing no pains, graduates should fulfill the lofty mission of serving the country through innovation with practical actions as the pioneer of reform and innovation in the new era and the leader of scientific and technological development in the industry. Jiang Lin wished that all 2019 graduates would fight for dreams, live up to expectations, lead a brilliant life and stay positive.
The ceremony ended with a chorus of Song of Xi'an University of Science and Technology by all attendees.
