On April 30, the Theory Study Central Group of the University Party Committee held a study meeting in the first conference room of Lishan School Yard, Lintong campus, and watched the live broadcast of the meeting commemorating the 100th anniversary of the may 4th movement together. At 10:30 a.m., the assembly opened in the Great Hall of the People, and members of the central group stood up solemnly together with the attendees on the scene. The solemn national anthem resounded on and off the screen. At the meeting, General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech. He deeply remembered the lofty patriotic feelings and revolutionary spirit of the May 4th pioneers, spoke highly of the historical significance of the May 4th Movement, and pointed out the theme, direction and mission of Chinese youth movement in the new era. He called on the Chinese youth in the new era to carry forward the spirit of the May 4th Movement, set up lofty ideals, love the great motherland, shoulder the responsibility of the times, have the courage to forge ahead arduously, develop their abilities and cultivate their moral character. He clearly put forward that the whole society should make joint efforts to do a good job of youth work, take the initiative to approach young people, listen to young people, and be intimate friends of young people; that we should care for young people sincerely and be enthusiastic about youth work; and that we should carefully educate, guide and lead the young people.

Everyone listened attentively to the speech, while carefully taking notes, to study and understand the rich content of the speech in depth. After the conclusion of the conference, members of the central group held a warm discussion around the spirit of General Secretary Xi's speech. It was unanimously said that General Secretary Xi Jinping's speech was given with a far-sighted vision and in a magnificent manner, expressing rich connotations and profound thoughts with accessible words. As the speech was a standard and guidance to carry forward the spirit of the May 4th Movement and carry out youth work, the whole university should earnestly and solidly study and implement the spirit of the speech, dare to speak out in youth work. We should care for and tolerate young people, and encourage more young teachers and students to grow, mature and play an important role in all undertakings of the university, contributing their youthful vigor to promoting the university's undertakings.
President Jiang Lin pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping's speech was throughout ablaze with the theoretical light of advancing with the times and the contents closely related to the actual youth work was deeply educational. Universities, shouldering the major mission of youth work, should make more efforts to study and implement the spirit of the speech in the original and do a solid job of youth work in combination with the actual education work.
