From March 28 to April 2, a delegation of 14 teachers and students from OregonRainier school came to our school's Basic Education Management Center for aone-week learning and exchange activity.
Onthe afternoon of March 28, the Attached Middle School held a welcomingceremony. The vice president Zhang Weihu and relevant leaders of the Basic EducationManagement Center and the International Exchange and Cooperation Departmentattended the welcoming ceremony. The person in charge of the Basic EducationManagement Center delivered a welcome speech, hoping that the two schools couldtake this opportunity to further deepen exchanges and cooperation and promotecommon development. In his speech, Michael, a superintendent of the OregonRainier School District thanked the Attached Middle School for its warmreception. He said that the two schools have accumulated profound friendship inthe long-term cooperation, and this exchange trip will surely push bilateralrelations to a new level and open a new page in the development of China andthe United States, and presented gifts to the Attached Middle School. ZhangWeihu presented a gift in return to the American representative, and watchedthe art program performed by students in the Basic Education Management Centertogether with foreign guests.
OnMarch 29, a delegation from Oregon Rainier School visited our EngineeringTraining Center, library, geological museum and school history museum. In thetraining center, the delegation watched the whole process of metalworkingpractice. In the innovation class, the self-developed innovative productsdisplayed by college students won praise and applause from American teachersand students, especially the four-rotor aircraft and intelligent vehicletransportation platform impressed the teachers and students of Rainier School.
FromMarch 30 to March 31, the American delegation was received by the host familiesof teachers and students and experienced the life of Chinese families.
OnApril 1, the delegation communicated in depth with teachers and students of theAttached Middle School and Attached Kindergarten, entered the classroom,watched classes such as class meeting, English class, History class, and 3Dmakers, and participated in the flag-raising ceremony. In the afternoon, ateacher symposium was held between the two schools, during which presidents andteachers from both sides discussed and introduced their respective educationalconcepts and subject characteristics.
Itis reported that since the establishment of friendly cooperative relationshipbetween the Attached Middle School and Oregon Rainier School in 2015, the twoschools have often exchanged in-depth views on education. Our school sentteachers and students to the United States for exchange and study in 2016, 2017and 2018 respectively. Over the past four years, the two schools haveestablished a profound friendship.
