At the Scientific and Technological Achievements Appraisal Meeting of China Coal Industry Association held on November 20, 20 items of scientific achievements passed the evaluation process, and 9 of them were identified as the world-class, 10 of them globally advanced and one domestically advanced.
At the appraisal meeting, nine items including "Theoretical and Technical Research on Prevention and Control of Complex Component Gas Explosion in Mine Fire Area" were identified as the world-class achievements by experts after project reports, information review, detailed verification and full discussions. Other ten items including the "Study on the Accumulation and Control of Harmful Gas in the Corner of Fully Mechanized Mining Face in Northern Shaanxi Mining Area" were identified as globally advanced. One item the "Key Technology and Application of Coal Gangue in Concrete Resource Utilization" was identified as domestically advanced. Projects appraised at the meeting are innovations jointly created by our university and the coal industry, covering three fields like security, mining and electromechanics. Twenty-one national industry experts were invited and the appraisal results of scientific and technological achievements have been greatly improved in both quantity and quality, laying a good foundation for the application of science and technology award in 2019.
Cao Wenjun, deputy director of Science and Technology Development Department of China Coal Industry Association, Cao Guangming, director of Intellectual Property Department, and Li Shugang, vice president of Xi 'an University of Science and Technology attended the opening ceremony of the appraisal meeting, which was presided over by Cao Wenjun.
It is said that Cao Guangming, director of Intellectual Property Department of China Coal Industry Association, exchanged views with the vice dean who is in charge of scientific research in some college of our university on the morning of November 21. By taking main functions of Science and Technology Development Department of China Coal Industry Association into consideration, Cao Guangming set forth the work of achievement appraisal, science and technology evaluation, award application, Chinese patent award, talent training and among others. In addition, the participating vice dean consulted the problems that teachers encountered in their scientific research. The symposium enabled teachers to gain a deep understanding of project appraisal and achievement award application of China Coal Industry Association, greatly boosting teachers' confidence in scientific research work and achievement award application.
