At 14:00 pm of September 15th, 2018, Chinese and Foreign University Education Internationalization Forum of Promoting the Construction of "First-class Universities, First-class Disciplines" of Xi'an University of Science and Technology sponsored by the International Exchange and Cooperation Office of our University was grandly held at international conference hall in coal science and technology center of Lintong Campus. Dr. Shang Changchun, Chief of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office of the University and Dean of the School of International Education, presided over the forum. Management staffs, professors from dozens of domestic and foreign high-level universities, research institutions such as University of Tasmania, Macquarie University in Australia, Brunel University London in the United Kingdom, Ball State University in the United States, Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg in Germany, Laurentian University in Canada, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology in Taiwan of China, Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology in Shaanxi Province of China, Australia Education Management Group, China Centre for International Education Exchange, as well as leaders of our schools and departments, representatives of Chinese and foreign students, a total of more than 220 people participated in the forum.
Professor Zhang Weihu, Vice President of Xi'an University of Science and Technology, firstly extended the sincere welcome and greetings to the guests present at the forum. He also introduced the work and progress made by the University in recent years in international exchanges and cooperation. Vice president Zhang pointed out that, "internationalization" has always been one of the important content of the "double first-class" construction of Xi'an University of Science and Technology. It is also hoped to take the opportunity of this forum to discuss such related issues as higher education and internationalization with experts and scholars from famous universities and educational institutions at home and abroad, so as to further promote the international exchanges and cooperation of our University to a new high.
Subsequently, six groups of guests delivered keynote speeches on the internationalization of Chinese and foreign university education.
At the same time, School of Architecture and Civil Engineering, School of Electrical and Control Engineering and the cooperative education partner universities in Australia also jointly held a "one-to-one project negotiation meeting".
The support of the partner universities has laid the more solid foundation for the internationalization of our University, providing a broader platform for our teachers and students to broaden their horizons. Our University has also been committed to broadening cooperation and developing new partners. At this time, the Australian Laurentian University also signed the cooperation framework agreement with our University as the new partner of Xi'an University of Science and Technology.
The Australia Education Management Group has always given great support and assistance to the internationalization of our University. This forum also donated the cloud classroom platform worth 1 million yuan to our University, providing high quality education resources for our teachers and students. Zhang Weihu, the Vice President also on behalf of the Xi'an University of Science and Technology, awarded the commemorative plaque of "Zeal for Education of Xi'an University of Science and Technology" to the Australia Education Management Group.
With substantial content, large amount of information, high level and good fruits, the Chinese and Foreign University Education Internationalization Forum has made positive influence on deepening mutual understanding between colleges and universities, promoting mutual feelings, pushing forward the construction of "first-class universities, first-class disciplines" in our University, and advancing the internationalization process, which has been highly praised by the participants.
