From November 1 through 2, a delegation of five people headed by Sue Carthew, Vice President at Charles Darwin University visited our school. The heads of the Graduate School, the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, the School of Electrical and Control Engineering and the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering attended the meeting and discussion.
On November 2, Vice President Hui Chaoyang among other leaders met with Vice President Sue Carthew and members of the delegation. President Hui first extended a warm welcome to the delegation of Charles Darwin University on behalf of the school and introduced the history, characteristics of the majors and achievements in internationalization of our school. Hui said that our school attached great importance to cooperation and exchanges with Charles Darwin University, and hoped that the two universities could further expand and deepen their cooperation on the basis of the framework agreement. Vice President Sue Carthew thanked Xi’an University of Science and Technology for the warm reception, described in detail the development and majors of Charles Darwin University and hoped that the two schools would carry out comprehensive cooperation with student exchanges as a starting point.
During the talks, the two sides had a productive exchange and discussion on deep cooperation on the Darwin Doctoral Scholarship Program, student exchange programs, short-term exchange programs, Electrical and Control Engineering and Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and concrete measures for the implementation thereof.
The City of Darwin provided full funding to one doctoral student of our school majoring in chemistry and chemical engineering.
On November 1, Professor Friso De Boer, dean of the School of Engineering and Information Technology of Charles Darwin University gave a lecture entitled “A New Approach to Measuring Binaural Hearing” for graduate students of the School of Electrical and Control Engineering. At the lecture, students actively asked questions and the atmosphere was lively.
